One word, SUPERB. Came here Saturday night to celebrate my uncles 90th birthday and both Chloe and Joshua made it a birthday we won’t ever forget. The food here is easily Michelin star quality IMO and the fact that it’s just Chloe and Joshua doing everything is amazing. Usually I take lots of photos of food but we were so blown away with each course we’d devoured them before I remembered to take pics (literally capturing only 2 of the courses). Cannot recommend Number Eight highly enough, if you’re looking for excellent food in a great location run by two lovely people this is the place! For reference booking is a must and I’d advise, as we did, doing it well in advance to ensure you can get a table. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £100+ Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section Vegetarian options: We had one of our party who was vegetarian and she was catered to with a couple of bespoke dishes that she loved as much as we loved our rich and meat courses

Brilliant food, service, and beverages. Lovely dining room. So impressive that it’s a two person operation. Chloe is brilliant front of house. The menu was a lot of fun and we got to try some really interesting flavour combinations, especially on the cherry, white chocolate, and woodruff dessert. Second visit and just as good as the first. It’s got to be the best restauraunt in north Devon. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £100+

Fabulous evening. Tasting menu was modern and unique. Party of 4 to celebrate a wedding anniversary. We all loved it. Chloe looked after us front of house. The spacing between dishes was perfect. All of the dishes by the chef were executed to extremely professional high level. We have eaten in many a Michelin restaurant, and even though this doesn't have stars its up there with the best. Excellent evening, flavours amazing. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend Number Eight.
