Such a lovely place! The owner welcomed us like old friends, which made the whole experience even more special. The food was incredible—honestly the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I don’t understand how this restaurant is rated 4.7, because it deserves a solid 5 stars. We’ll definitely be coming back! I came here on recommendation of a friend and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've had in quite some time. Nutan's is a one woman show - she cooks, serves and is the heart and soul of the whole thing. And she does a tremendous job with it all! Her bright and joyful attitude is infectious and you feel like visiting a friend, even on your first visit! Since she's taking care of the kitchen and the guest room, you are provided a bell to ring for her, which I found a fun solution. You'll also be asked how spicy you want the dishes, which I highly appreciated. Now I can handle my spice, but it's a good touch! The food was fantastic! The tarka daal were fabulous, creamy and packed with flavour, and the (huge) garlic naan complimented the dish perfectly. It all just hit the spot. I was even given a small saucet with a spice blend to add at my own discretion. The mango lassi was then a great addition to wash it all down. This will be without a doubt a must visit when I'm back in Edinburgh and I implore anyone who enjoys Indian food to come here!
