From Oz to Ox What an exceptionally special experience at OX Belfast. We brought our relatives over from Australia and wanted somewhere memorable to share together — and OX exceeded every expectation. The four of us enjoyed the Spring Surprise tasting menu with the accompanying wine pairings, finishing with both local and French cheeses, and every single course felt carefully considered, beautifully balanced and genuinely exciting. The presentation alone was stunning, but the flavours somehow surpassed even that. From delicate seasonal dishes to perfectly paired wines, everything felt elegant without ever being pretentious. The staff struck that rare balance of being incredibly knowledgeable while also warm, relaxed and welcoming, which made the whole evening feel even more special. A huge thank you in particular to Chef Stevie, Matthew, and sommelier Nick, who were all fantastic throughout the evening. Their knowledge, genuine care, passion and attention to detail elevated the entire experience. Nick’s wine pairings were exceptional and introduced us to wines we probably never would have discovered ourselves, while Stevie and Matthew made us feel so looked after from beginning to end. Particular highlights were the incredible wines, the beautifully cooked fish and lamb courses, the creativity of the desserts, and the little surprise elements throughout the menu that made the experience feel immersive from beginning to end. The atmosphere was intimate and calm, and sharing such an unforgettable meal with family visiting from the other side of the world made it all the more meaningful. A truly world-class dining experience in Belfast and one we’ll be talking about for a very long time. Thank you to everyone at OX for such a wonderful evening.
