Another fantastic visit to the Old Cock Inn! It was incredibly busy, but the team handled the pressure brilliantly, remaining friendly, professional, and smiling throughout. We were told there would be around a 90-minute wait for food due to everyone arriving at once, but with the lovely weather and a few drinks outside, we didn't mind at all. The Sunday roasts were well worth the wait, generous, delicious, and full of flavour. A special mention to the bar staff, who dealt with a few impatient customers with professionalism and grace while still going above and beyond to keep everything running smoothly. Despite the busy atmosphere, everyone else around us seemed happy and enjoying themselves. We'll definitely be back for another roast! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We turned up as a group of 6 and were able to get a table very easily. We were told when arriving that it could take 45 minutes to 90 minutes to get our food after ordering, which was long but we were willing to wait. As its bar service I stayed at the table while the other five went up to order, but then when I went to order (immediately after one of my party had ordered with the same person) I was told the kitchen staff had said to take no more food orders. I explained that everyone else in my party had ordered but they said they couldn’t do anything and it was only when the others in my group asked for their orders to be cancelled so we could go somewhere else (with a well-run kitchen) that they reluctantly said “fine” and took my order. I saw another person (who had made a booking in advance for the Sunday Roast) be told that they wouldn’t be able to order food either but they rightfully kicked up a fuss and were able to order for their table too. The food was fine but the poorly-run kitchen and some of the less understanding bar staff put a dampener on the whole thing and I’d be very hesitant to go back to eat. A great spot for the night. Really spacious comfortable room and from the moment we turned up we were made to feel so welcome and greeted with a big smile from Ramona. She went out of our way to make sure we had everything we needed and that we enjoyed our time in the bar and at the hotel. Everyone needs a Ramona. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
