I came to Buxton on my own and popped in to the Old Sun Inn for a quiet dinner with my dog. I left at midnight feeling like I’d lived there my whole life. The loveliest landlady/landlord/their whole bloody family The locals made me feel so at home and welcome. Fab atmosphere at the quiz/bingo, and that’s not just because my adoptive team won 10/10 recommend if you’re in the area and uncertain on where to go. You’ll leave with a whole load of new pals. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £30–40 Dietary restrictions: I’m coeliac and I had a gf chocolate fudge cake

Can't fault the food or the atmosphere but on leaving the pub on to the High Street we were accused by the landlady and the guy serving food that we had not actually paid for our meals. This was comical as we had had paid via our card details of which were on my mobile. There was no apology. We had been at Buxton Speedway for the afternoon and this was embarrassing. We will take our business elsewhere next time. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: £50–60 Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian options: Our visit was totally ruined by the unprofessional conduct of the people who worked there after we left. Maybe it was our Middlesbrough Tigers Speedway shirts that offended them but to be accused of not paying when we had was totally bang out of order. Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Paid parking lot
