We spotted this restaurant while walking along the Victoria Embankment and decided to check it out. It’s a beautiful terrace decorated with water fountains, flowers, herbs, mirrors and - of course - heaters and umbrellas for comfort. Asa tended to our ordering and was a wealth of information about The Terrace, patiently answering all my friend’s questions and was happy to recommend menu options. The food was delicious and filling..I had the Chicken, Ham Hock & Leek Pie while my friend chose the Pan-fried Salmon - so no room for dessert. We had hot drinks to start and when my friend wanted a second pot of tea, I opted for a glass of wine which came almost immediately but my friend’s tea took a bit longer than anticipated so we did hail a server a one point as assurance that her order hadn’t been missed but otherwise, we found the pace of the drinks and meal service to be more European in style..un-rushed.. allowing us plenty of time to visit and relax over good food and the beautiful views over the Victoria Embankment parks to the Thames. A lovely afternoon, on the terrace, sampling a selection of delicious, finger sandwiches, mouthwatering, mini cakes and scones, champagne and fruity, refreshing ice - tea, which was spot on. The birds were an added bonus to the afternoon. The lounge and the terrace were nicely designed. The terrace is my favourite, as it's a hidden gem, a haven, tucked away in London, excellent choice, of background music and a "chilled" ambiance with plenty of greenery. What makes this hotel stand out from their competitors? Their outstanding, customer service and quality training. It's consistent from every member of staff. The young lady who looked after us today, I would like to refer to, what makes her shine from the other employees. Her name is Martina. She is very attentive, accommodating, polite, professional and implemented, service with a smile. She has an eye for detail and has a high level of EQ (emotional quotient). I hope she will be considered for the, "Employee of the year," recognition programme for her exceptional, job performance. We will definitely recommend and visit again, to try the ala carte menu. Thank you for making this visit memorable.
