I really wanted to like this place because of all the positive reviews, but unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. The first thing we noticed was how incredibly loud the music was. We asked if it could be turned down, but were told no. If you're hoping to have a conversation with the people you're dining with, I wouldn't recommend coming here. To make matters worse, several menu items were unavailable. Considering the menu is already quite limited, this left very few options to choose from. The food was underwhelming. The patty was served on its own with no accompaniments, making it feel dry and bland. Nearly everything we ordered was also exceptionally spicy and was just overpowering. The service was the biggest letdown. Our male server seemed completely uninterested and acted as though he couldn't be bothered. It was honestly some of the worst service I've experienced. Overall, I left regretting spending my money here. Unfortunately, this restaurant didn't live up to the positive reviews. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30

Palm Tree Kitchen embraces you with its rich Caribbean atmosphere, deeply satisfying food and a selection of rum any connoisseur would drool in front of. Be prepared to sit, socialize and experience the best of Barbados from the owner and his team. I have been a fan of PTK for over a year and a half. I love the rum selection and the depth of flavour in their jerk wings that I can still remember. If you’re looking for an experience in Halifax, Palm Tree Kitchen needs to be first on your list!
