If you have experienced authentic Kerala cuisine and are looking for that same traditional taste, this restaurant may not meet your expectations. The flavors do not quite capture the essence of real Kerala food. I tried the parotta, which was actually quite good. It was soft and layered just the way it should be. However, everything else I ordered was disappointing. The dishes did not just fall short of expectations, they did not meet basic standards either. I ordered through delivery, so the dine-in experience might be different. But based on my order, if you are looking for true Kerala flavor, this may not be the place. Our Friday nights out with friends have become a bit of a tradition, and we love trying new places. This time, we decided to check out Pappadams, a cozy spot with simple decor that felt welcoming but understated. We kicked off with three starters: Prawn Olathiyathu, Pepper Chicken, and Lamb Coconut Fry. Unfortunately, the starters didn’t impress much. The Prawn Olathiyathu and Lamb Coconut Fry lacked flavor and left us underwhelmed. The only highlight was the Pepper Chicken, which had a good kick and stood out in terms of taste. For mains, we went with Chicken Jalfrezi and Lamb Rogan Josh, accompanied by Naans and Kothu Rotis. Sadly, all the dishes arrived almost cold, and the curries were disappointing. Both lacked the bold flavors you’d expect from Indian cuisine, and the gravies were bland and uninspired. Overall, Pappadams needs a lot of improvement, especially with flavor and food temperature.
