AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Zero stars is not an option. I’ve lived in Lisburn my whole life, and Paramount was a solid favourite throughout my teens and early twenties. When I heard it was under new management, I decided to give it another go after a long break. Big mistake. There’s simply no comparison to the old place. The previous Paramount wasn’t perfect, but at least they made a proper pizza. What I received can barely be called food, never mind pizza. The closest description I can give is cheese soup poured over soggy bread. One slice, then straight into the bin. Delivery was late too—not the end of the world normally, but in hindsight I wish it hadn’t arrived at all. The driver was sound; we chatted about the football, he handed me the box, and off he went. The second my hand touched the bottom of that box, I knew I’d made a terrible decision. The grease had already soaked through. No chance of a crispy base. When I opened it, the problem was obvious. An absurd amount of cheese and toppings had turned the whole thing into a heavy, greasy mess. The toppings slid off instantly, making it impossible to lift a slice. LESS IS MORE. I could keep going—especially about the soggy, Domino’s-style semolina base—but I think the point is clear. The old stone‑baked, flour‑dusted style was miles better. As I said at the start: avoid at all costs. Save yourself the disappointment and order from NYPD instead—the best pizza you’ll get in Lisburn Price per person: £10–20
