Very pleasant restaurant, good service, very nice food. As the restaurant is upstairs above another restaurant it's a little confusing finding it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Parking space: Difficult to find parking Wheelchair accessibility: Upstairs

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pastiche Bistro, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. To begin, the starters were exceptional. The roast black pudding and potato croquette was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with a rich homemade brown sauce. The breaded brie was another highlight—crispy on the outside, deliciously melted within, complemented by a fresh beetroot and orange salad and a lovely pear and cranberry chutney. For the mains, the slow-braised rolled blade of beef was incredibly tender and full of flavour, served with creamy horseradish mash and a deep, indulgent treacle jus topped with crispy onions. The slow-braised belly pork was equally impressive, with melt-in-the-mouth texture, paired with smooth mashed potato, vibrant beetroot purée, and a well-balanced apple and cider jus. Dessert did not disappoint either. The warm apple and raspberry crumble was comforting and delicious, served with ice cream, and it was great to see vegan options available on request. The cheese selection, featuring smoked cheddar and Hartington Stilton with savoury crackers and house chutney, was a perfect way to finish the meal. The drinks—Madri beer and a rosé Zinfandel—complemented the meal nicely. Beyond the food, the staff were wonderful: attentive, friendly, and welcoming without being overbearing. The ambience was beautiful, creating a relaxed yet refined dining atmosphere. Considering the quality of the food and overall experience, the prices were very reasonable. All in all, it was a brilliant evening. I’ll definitely be returning soon to explore more of the menu. Highly recommended!
