We dined here a few weeks ago. As the server brought some pots of mayonnaise to the table he fumbled them, spilling them all over the table, my backpack and my shorts. Accidents happen but the way the was handled afterwards was very poor. After the spillage the server first laughed it off and came back with a wet tea towel which he dumped on the table next to our food for me to clean my bag with (see picture). With our food waiting in front of us I wasn't about to do that. I asked to speak to the manager and they took the bag away and wiped it. However, the bag which was only 2 weeks old was clearly still greasy. My shorts were also still stained after I washed them at home. Afterwards I emailed the general manager (Todd) to complain and ask for a resolution. He offered to have the shorts cleaned again if I brought them in, but between our planned leave and his this didn't work out. I have now just written those off and will buy some more. I also had to clean my own bag thoroughly at home in the bath to get rid of the grease as I needed to use it for work. At no point was any compensation or gesture of good will offered for the inconvenience. We have been coming regularly to pavement vaults since it opened. The food and drinks offering was excellent when it first opened but has steadily declined over the years. It is still ok for what it is but overpriced. However, we will not be returning mainly due to the poor customer service. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
