Room was fairly small for a double, just enough room for the bed with small space around the edges. Cleanliness of the room could have been better, lots of cobwebs and other insects in the corners. Staff on duty were friendly and informative. Tea and coffee available in room with kettle that could have done with a descale. TV was small but relative for the room size, however the aerial connection was loose so the picture wasn't very stable. No real desk space for working on which was disappointing as travelling on business. tried to work in the bar area but could not get any signal from the wifi to work. Eventually managed to receive 4g in the room so tried to hot spot, which was not the best for downloading files. A few sockets available in the room but no USB points, Shower was ok, with soap available, but cubicle was not very big, mainly due to the size of the room and the building layout I guess. Breakfast was good, cooked to order, better than a standard buffet but would have been nice to be offered a selection rather than standard fried egg. The option for poached or scrambled would have been good to offer. Free Parking available which was a bonus. Overall, for the money it could have been better, rooms need a refurb and team need to focus on detail cleaning.

There are four things I look for anywhere we stay. Clean room, comfy bed, good shower and WiFi. The Pecking Mill had 25% of these. Breakfast was nice, the location was central to where we wanted to be and it was a good price. The owner was very nice and accommodating. Personally I feel if a bit of money was spent the place could be amazing. Perhaps get another pair of eyes to have a look around, some very easy and fast wins for the Inn. Service: 5
