Bland, lazy, and cynical. Here's an example. Prawn with ginger and spring onions doesn't mean a bowl of cooked onions with one chopped spring onion and a dozen prawns. Rice noodles with beef should mean lots of steaming tender beef in something nice and noodly, instead it was a bowl of stodgy cheap noodles and a few pieces of chewy beef. Chinese food is famous for its flavors and freshness. These two dishes never came from any recipe book, they were just thrown out of kitchen by a lazy chef. Make sure you've got a selection of authentic Chinese flavours and vegetables to add to your dishes when you get them home. You'll need them. Price per person: £30–40

I have been a regular at Peking Chef for years - their food is always fresh and tasty with the service being smooth and friendly. My favourite dish is the special curry with egg fried rice and the chicken balls are nice and crispy.
