Visited Rothley Fisheries for the first time yesterday evening (15th Jan) and ate in coming from Derby. I have very severe coeliac disease, and this place truly lives up to its promise of serving genuine gluten‑free food. I’ve been to plenty of places that claim to be gluten free, only to end up with stomach pains within hours — but not at Rothley Fisheries. The portions were generous, the fish and chips were tasty and high quality, and the staff and service were on another level. I highly recommend this place, especially for anyone with coeliac disease. I’ll definitely be a regular from now on. Looking forward to trying the gyros next, if it’s gluten free. 2nd Visit on 17th Jan, evening, takeaway this time, and the food and customer service was outstanding. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

How standards have fallen, I always thought that this chippy was the best in Leicestershire but since the refurbishment the chips are 'soggy' and the batter was full of fat / greace. Such a shame that what was once an example to food is now one to avoid at all cost.
