A rollercoaster experience, from start to finish. Booked in advance to ensure we got a table on a busy Wednesday evening at 6pm. We were promptly shown to our table and ordered drinks. After these arrived, things started to change, the service slowed and the restaurant got busier. It was around 10 minutes before we saw our server again when we ordered starters and mains. The starter arrived promptly, within 5 minutes and this was delicious, as wall all food we were served that night. Unfortunately, things started to go downhill again and our starters were never cleared, and the wait for our main went on and on endlessly. It was easily 30 minutes before our mains arrived, and the plates from our starters were still on the table not the best really. The pizza was fantastic, and we made sure not to leave a crumb! And then, once again, was the endless wait. It was another 30 minutes after we finished our mains before they were cleared, and we were invited to order dessert which we accepted (though time was getting on, it had been over 2 hours since we arrived at this point). The desserts arrived promptly, and we then went to pay by using the QR code on our table, though the total amount was certainly incorrect online. I had to hunt down a member of staff to get this resolved and was treated superbly, the staff member even apologised for the delay and was grateful for our patience. He took slightly criticism well, and went above and beyond. So as I say, a rollercoaster of emotions. It was a sure 5/10 just for food quality alone, but the attitude of the final staff member pushed this up to a 7/10 - well recovered Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection

I’ve recently moved to Manchester and quickly found pizza express my favourite local hidden spot. The service is absolutely phenomenal. Cleo is so kind and gracious and has really made me feel welcome. I look forward to returning to pizza express mostly for her and the service I receive. The food is always excellent and I couldn’t recommend it more. Thanks for always making me feel welcome Cleo - best waitress I’ve met in a very kind time. What a shock. Pizza express is normally the go to for good reliable pizza and great customer service. Arrived 5 minutes early for a 4.30pm booking. There were only 2 tables sat and the rest of the restaurant was empty. However there were several dirty tables that had been cleared of plates but not wiped and reset for the next customers. And of course we were being sat at one of these. The hostess started to clean and set tge table after semi-greeting us with a very quiet hello. Sat and ordered dinner 2x normal dough-balls and 2x kids ones. Seemed to take ages and when they did come 1 plate of them was stone only warm in comparison to the other steaming hot ones. Mains came and they were as you would have expected with pizza express good and tasty. They did again take a while to come. By this point tbe restaurant was filling up. A new server appeared and she seemed to be more pizza express and was chatty. If we cought it in a bad day then fair enough. If I had a choice I would go to a different branch of this normally great family friendly restaurant.
