It was our 60th wedding anniversary. We had celebrated at The Bath Arms, then walked as far as we could manage. Feeling very tired we looked for a seat while other members of our family continued on to walk.The Rockface owner asked if we would like a seat, (we have walking sticks) It was in a lovely position. Outside but under cover with a great view. We had tea. The owner could not do more to make us comfortable. He was closing but still brought us tea, found a comfortable chair for us and said not to rush. He was so obliging, friendly and very pleasant. It made a real memorable day for us. Thank you so much. We would certainly come here again if in Cheddar and recommend it without hesitation.

We sat down at a table this afternoon and waited to be served , having already checked menu . Staff passed us on numerous occasions but did not stop to take an order , fairly busy so I was prepared to wait . Then I heard one lad say when he got back inside “ 2 sat at that table just staring at me every time I pass “ . So that was it , we upped and left . Most places these days are table service , you’re not allowed to approach bar/counter . There were no signs at rock face to say any different. I’ve run a number of hospitality places myself and if someone came and used my seats I’d at least be asking them if they intend to order something- this lads attitude amazed me
