After enjoying Pilrig St. Paul's Church, visit this restaurant which is not far away. Japanese dishes are on the menu at Raku. Try nicely cooked miso soup, katsu and chicken. Great tea is among the best drinks to order.
The warm atmosphere of this place makes guests feel relaxed and have a good time. The attentive staff welcomes visitors all year round. Terrific service is a strong point that plays a great role for the success of this spot. In accordance with the guests' opinions, prices are attractive. We loved the Japanese food in this place. I ordered chicken Katsu curry. It was tasty and crispy. Unlimited misu is amazing Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20

Place is walk-in only but totally worth it. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is quiet and perfect for hanging out. Tried Raku on 25 March 2026 with my lovely friend we both loved it. We had a delicious dinner here on a cold Friday night. No tables but we got a shelf/bench and high chairs at the side of the serving counter. Perfect for two of us. The delightful server offered us a table when one became free but we felt comfortable where we sat. Walk-ins only so no booking, but it's probably a better business model for a tiny place as people will queue for this menu. Help yourself to delicious miso, order and collect at the counter. We had Udon, Sukiyaki, Pumpkin fritters, Gyoza and other delicious sides. Very reasonably priced! Although upstairs is small they have more room down in the basement, so don't be put off asking for a table if they look full. I'll check that out next time. However, the Japanese accent at cooking tofu and pumpkins so it's worth a visit. Check out the menu before you go. I heard the server go over the menu with a vegan and offer adaptions too. Wheelchair accessibility: I would say limited as very small. Also I think the bathroom is in a basement so inaccessible
