Very sad. Visited a few years back k and it was lovely, good beer and excellent food. This time around and it would appear they are struggling. Poor service from the young lady behind the bar, trying to put ice into red wine, an uninspiring menu and terrible lager. Such a shame. I hope their fortunes improve.

The Red Lion is a cosy pub/restaurant in Slinfold with decent food. I was disappointed that they only had one non alcoholic choice of beer or lager, which seems a bit tone deaf these days. There was little atmosphere inside, but to be fair that may be because the weather was fine and some people were in the garden. The big downer for us was the young guy behind the bar. Apparently he was new but we wouldn't have guessed from his attitude, you'd think he owned the pub. He was offhand from the start and looked thoroughly bored, and refused refused to accept we'd booked a table even tho our host had done it face to face with the proprietor. Attitude persisted through the evening until, at 9.30, he came over to tell us not to forget the pub shut at 10 (What's the world coming to?). He them came over a few minutes later to ask if we wanted the bill. We all felt we were being rushed out. If the Red Lyon changed the barman I'll give them a better rating. Just to say in the interest of balance, the two older people who worked there were lovely.
