My friend and I went out to the New Forest, Boulderwood for a walk (25/05/26),on the way back after our walk we decided to stop in a pub and have some food to finish off our day. We found the Red Rover. It was quiet, we found ourselves some seating in the garden and ordered from the Greene King app. We were not impressed, my friend, who is vegetarian had to order starters (chips, cheese garlic bread and onion rings, because apart from salad (which was unavailable) there was nothing on the menu for vegetarians, which we thought being a Greene King chain was really poor. I had gammon, egg and chips, was looking forward to a dippy egg but it was hard boiled! We ordered through the app, but our soft drinks took around 10-15 minutes to get to us, despite the pub being quite empty. We did have pudding which I’m pleased to say was ok. We just thought how rubbish there was nothing for vegetarians apart from salad, upon closer inspection, we noticed you could have sausage and mash, as it gave an alternative of vegetarian sausage, whoopie!! Needless to say, we don’t think we will be returning back to this pub! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 Recommended dishes: Pudding, Eton Mess, Fries Vegetarian options: There were no vegetarian options apart from salad or vegetarian sausage and mash !

What we had was ok but not what we wanted from the menu. At 1.00 pm on aThursday the had sold out of fish and chips, lasagna curry and didn’t even have any milk for a cup of coffee
