We popped in for some lunch. Delicious mushroom soup and a ham sandwich with "proper" ham and bread! The guy who served us was wonderful, friendly and helpful. We'll definitely use this cafe again if we're in Matlock Bath Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes Vegetarian options: Great customer service. Wanted to order tuna & mayo sandwich with pot of tea. (Had tour booked at Mine Museum in 25mins, 1.00pm) Told would have to wait 30mins. So decided on 2 cakes and pot of tea,(was with wife). Asked if it was 'take away'. With a rea pot ! Waited 10 mins for tea, one cup only. After another 10min wait had to go in and enquire about eta of cakes, been forgotten. Waited for cakes by counter to speed up delivery. Eventually cakes arrived, no paper napkin. Cakes gulped down, 3 mins to spare. Appreciate they were busy cooking biker's lunches and it was a sunny Saturday, but service was so slow, sense of urgency not forthcoming. If you do visit allow plenty of time, even for a snack. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Really lovely cafe which we had breakfast at when we were in the area a few weeks ago. Good produce, cooked well and tasted great. Price for breakfast was on par with what you expect to pay these days. However, no cup of tea of coffee thrown in the price, those were extra and would have set us back around £4 extra each. That would have put the breakfasts with a drink nearly £15/16 each. There were three of us so we opted for some tap water instead. Sorry I can't justify £16 for a breakfast and a hot drink. The cost of hot water and a tea bag or some instant coffee with a cooked breakfast wouldn't be much. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
