We had lunch at this delightful cafe,the lovely lady who I surmise is the owner was delightful, extreamly friendly and helpful, food was tasty and generous portions,everything about this place was 5star......attractive surroundings, clean,and I would definitely recommend a visit.... Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Lovely little cafe next to the beautiful river Exe. We stopped off here for a coffee and a rest, but of course could not let the chance of a Devonshire cream tea go to waste. Now the cream tea had to be done the correct way, Cream on first. The staff are helpful, polite and quick with the orders. Well worth a visit here, and in the sunny weather you can sit outside and enjoy your fare. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I think about this lovely hidden gem so often. I used to stay in Exeter regularly for work, and in January last year I stumbled across Riverside Cafe. I had the loveliest breakfast and cappuccino, all freshly cooked and served hot. What really made the experience was the hospitality of the staff and how welcome they made me feel. My photo album today reminded me of this “one year ago today,” and I felt compelled to leave a review. If I am ever back in Exeter, I’ll certainly be coming here again.
