My son and I attended for lunch yesterday and on arrival was immediately told by a very charming young man that there would be a weight to order food of 15 minutes. He gave me some menus and advised that we could order drinks in the meantime. 15 minutes later my son went inside to order and he was told by a woman that there was a 20 minute wait for food, he explained that we had been sitting outside for some time and she eventually took our order. There was quite a wait for food which was understandable given how busy it was. When the meals arrived (chicken burger with fries, smashed short rib burger with triple cooked chips) I was completely underwhelmed. The short rib burgers tasted unpleasant and I left over half of it, some of the chips were undercooked and for £16.75 I was massively disappointed. The chicken burger wasn’t much better, it looked like a chicken goujon rather than a burger and was covered in salt, again at over £16 I was not impressed. I also purchased a large Victoria sandwich cake from the farm shop priced at over £6 which was stale. On returning home I complained to RRFS (as they sign off their correspondence) and the response was as diabolical as my experience. They’d investigated my complaint and as I hadn’t raised it during my visit they couldn’t rectify it, I was however informed that the cakes are made fresh on a Wednesday and they would exchange it. Absolutely appalling customer service. If you want an underwhelming burger visit a pub chain or if you want quality stick with Cannon Hall

I had a terrible service with Rob Royd. Let me share my experience... I made a Christmas order to which it stated on the collection that the store was open from 8am. Arrived for 7.55am and the store didn't open until gone 8.20am. This affected my morning plans. It is absolutely unacceptable. It was Christmas Eve. The people in store were just looking at everyone freezing cold outside and queuing whilst drinking coffee and ignoring us trying to talk to them through the window. There were further issues in store when I tried to collect my order. I got no apology on the day and neither did the other customers. This is unacceptable. I raised a complaint but it was quite clear I was just a nuisance. The complaint wasn't taken serious. I really expected better, especially after being such a loyal customer for many years. Diabolical service by the store Manager Heather and by all accounts by the company owner too.
