Finally, Someone Who Understands the Assignment! If you’re looking for a "wow" factor that doesn’t involve eating in your van or questioning your life choices, this is it. This is exactly what a traditional chippy should be—and frankly, it’s a relief to know perfection still exists. The chips were actually cooked (revolutionary, I know) and seasoned to perfection. They didn’t skimp on the salt and vinegar, either. The fish was fresh, and the batter was exactly the right side of crispy—no oil slicks or environmental disasters here. Quick, helpful, and delivered with the kind of competence that makes you wonder why other places find it so difficult. The Verdict It’s simple: they do the basics brilliantly. No gimmicks, no "takeaway-only" power trips, just top-tier food and great service. I’ll definitely be back—mostly to remind myself that good fish and chips shouldn't be a myth. Highly recommended! The best chip shop around. The food is top tier, no matter what you choose. Portion sizes are generous, the menu has loads of choice (including some secret items that aren't listed), and the wait times are usually short. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the prices are more than reasonable for the quality you get. It’s got everything you’d want from a proper chip shop. My absolute go-to every time.
