The Rocksalt Cafe is 50 steps away from the nearest tram stop and offers comfortable outdoor seating. I visited in early July, on a balmy, sunny day, and it was a joy to eat outside. I did look around inside, and I can also say the decor is quirky and modern. I ordered the borek and was surprised with the ample portions. Every element of the dish was flavorful, and the textures were on point. The filo of the borek was crunchy, and the spinach and feta filling was beautifully balanced. I particularly liked the eggplant salad (not sure if they call it baba ganoush), the flavor of which jumped out and demanded attention. I will absolutely return next time I’m in the area. Their hygiene standards are dreadful and right now their rubbish is flying around the back of their Leith shop and hitting cars etc.
