We had an overall great dinner while staying at the hotel. The 2 course meal @£20 was definitely worth its money! Staff were kind! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I was disgusted by your restaurant staff. I am a guest staying in the hotel tonight, and was treated deplorably by the 3 bar staff helping guests. This was at the Aviator about 10 pm the evening of Saturday April 11th, 2026; a middle aged Indian man and two average size Indian young women wearing tan aprons. I ordered Nachos and was surprised to quickly receive them ICE COLD. The smoked chili cheese sauce was clumped and chunky like spoilt milk! When I brought the dish back to the barstaff and noted the cold cheese sauce and asked them please for WARM sauce on the nachos I was turned away by the barstaff. He said “Is that how they do it in America? No ours is meant to be cold. If you want I can ask the cooks to warm the plate”. I had not spoken to anyone about being from America, and just look and sound like a Black American. The strange and literally cold treatment from the barstaff in hindsight had clearly a racist overtone. Respectfully, I sat again with my cold sauce nachos. I checked many internet reviews of your hotel bar & restaurant menu along with general UK cuisine. There were of course no records of restaurant cold chili cheese sauce nachos EVER being offered in a restaurant. I have had Nandos nachos with warm cheese for Christ’s sake! I know that I was lied to & that UK nachos have warm cheese sauce; like American nachos. Why did I need to approach waitstaff/barstaff 3 times before they took my food back for hot sauce. When the smiling waitress brought back the same messy plate and stood by my table watching to see me eat off the warmed tampered plate I knew I needed to escalate my concern to a written complaint. A hygienic commercial kitchen would always send a FRESH plate of food to a customer which has had no danger of being shite upon or poisoned or spat in returning to the kitchen. I don’t know what provoked them to treat me like this. In human. A very poor representation of Thistle & Clermont Hotel Management LTD. I’ll never return. Food: 1 Service: 1

Unexpected Ratatouille!! I was going to let this pass as it can happen in older buildings with food around but we had to move away from the window table at far end of room (near breakfast buffet) due to a MOUSE running up and down the inside window ledge. We told waiter. They STILL reset the table and allowed another group to sit there. This group suddenly left and I mentioned this to waiter. He said they needed to meet someone at bar. This was an obvious lie as they left the floor completely. Food disappointing but just about 'ok'. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
