Tried to have lunch but sat outside where builders appeared minutes after we sat down and started digging up the patio with pickhammers. Impossible to eat with dust and noise. All the supervisor could manage was 'you can move inside'. Of course we could, but we are customers. The pub could (indeed should) have either warned us before we sat outside, or when we ordered, or indeed could have closed the terrace to customers whilst work was ongoing. Definitely never again, do not recommend, mostly because of the attitude to customers.

I went there on the Saturday 29th August and ordered a Timothy Taylor's landlord and it tasted and smelled like vinegar so I tck it back and asked the bar staff to smell it and they agreed, then I asked for a abbot instead and that was the same so I just left. Maybe there not cleaning there lines properly or not rotating the stock but either way it wasn't pleasant

Like The Ryde Castle, good food and selection of ales, but visited on the 'Steak Night' for dinner and no steak left...surely an establishment this size will be aware of supply and demand on their weekly promotions a lot better? Replacement dish ordered was nice (chicken and ham pie) but not what I was looking forward to. One member of staff kept wandering off when I believe he was meant to be working which put more pressure on the only server left on the counter to serve as well as take food orders. This had a knock on effect of cleaning tables so had to clean and clear own table first. Dog friendly establisment
