Loved our visit to Sweet Loop Cafe! The Iced Tiramisu Latte and Pistachio Latte were both amazing. We also tried the Dubai Kunafa Cookie, which was delicious. What stood out the most was the excellent customer service. My friend has an egg allergy and was hesitant to try the cookie. When she mentioned it to the staff, they were incredibly helpful and took the time to double-check all the ingredients—twice—to make sure it was egg-free before serving it. We really appreciated their care and attention to detail. Great drinks, tasty treats, and wonderful staff. Highly recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Easily the best matcha, espresso, and dessert in Waterloo. Sweet Loop's matcha is 100% matcha (no added fillers like other places), first-harvest, sourced directly from South Korea, and you can taste this quality in their drinks. My favourite matchas are the strawberry, ube cream, and iced triple matcha. Their locally sourced espresso is just as good, and when I need a little more caffiene I always go for their iced tiramisu latte (the cocoa powder on top is my favourite). Finally, their freshly made-to-order churros are the perfect sweet treat. The biscoff churro is my favourite. The atmosphere here is very enjoyable, and is the perfect place to come with your family or study for a couple hours. Definitely a hidden gem in Waterloo! Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Dietary restrictions: Their biscoff and tall classic churros are vegan.

This is the second time I have had a bad experience here, and both times completely ruined my day. I let it go the first time, but now it has happened again. The first time, I called and asked what time the store was closing. The employee said they were still open. I even told her, “If you are closing, please let me know,” but she insisted that I place the order over the phone and come pick it up. I agreed and placed the order. By the time I reached the store, I was actually one minute early before closing, but she closed the door on my face. I asked what was going on and reminded her that I had called. She was very rude and said they had thrown out my order. I had already called to tell her I was on my way, and she still did that. The second time was today. I placed an Uber order for three items: one Almond Loop and two Dubai Loops. I only received one item. I called the store, and the employee verified the order and admitted that it was their mistake. I was looking for help, but they said they could not assist me with a refund. It was very disappointing, and the way they handled it did not feel respectful at all. They were laughing and joking on the call, and I felt very bad about it. They told me I had to contact Uber, but Uber support is very poor and usually does not respond properly. One Dubai Loop costs around $8–$9, so this was completely unacceptable service. Closing the door on me, throwing out my order after I had clearly called ahead, laughing during the call, and admitting they messed up my order but still refusing to help is not okay. I do not know what is going on with this store, but I am never ordering from here again. Price per person: $20–30 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Hi Imran, We appreciate honest feedback, but this version of both events is neither complete nor accurate. What is correct: we forgot one loop in the Uber Eats order, and for that we sincerely apologize. Unfortunately, orders placed through Uber Eats can only be refunded through Uber Eats. But in other similar cases, customers have received refunds from Uber Eats. The rest of the story is quite different from our side and the store’s security cameras. Our staff was informed you would not be returning when you left your wallet at home and as such the order was discarded. The door was not shut in anyone’s face, you arrived after closing, and our staff did not laugh or make jokes on the phone. We wanted to take the time to explain these situations, as they do not reflect us as a business. We take great pride in our work and customer service, and we sincerely apologize for the trouble and frustration caused. Thank you
