Watch your bill closely – shady practices. I recently visited Sababa for lunch. While the quality of the food was decent, I had a very concerning experience with both the service and the billing process. First, although I specifically asked for chicken, I am not entirely convinced that what I was served was actually chicken—it was difficult to identify, and left me questioning the accuracy of their menu. Beyond the food, there were major red flags regarding the billing. When I ordered the chicken shawarma listed at $8.90, the staff attempted to charge me $17.80, effectively doubling the price. When I caught this before paying, they 'corrected' it, which I initially dismissed as a mistake. However, things got worse at the final payment step: I added a 5% tip to the $8.90 total (which should have been $9.35), but noticed on the terminal that the total had been bumped up to $9.75. Between the 'accidental' double charge, the questionable meat, and the incorrect final total, it feels like these are intentional tactics rather than simple errors. If you are a tourist visiting this spot, I strongly advise you to double-check your total on the credit card machine before tapping your card.
