We ordered chicken xacuti, with another curry - ghar ki murg with three naans and some samosas. I was really looking forward as we never tried saffron even though it’s local to us. We were very disappointed with the food - there was no taste, the spices weren’t cooked well enough. If you’re from India, you won’t like their food at all. Please don’t make food (xacuti) if you can’t do enough justice to it. It wasn’t for us at all, and waste of money and time both. Price per person: £30–40

We always have a fab experience at Saffronthe food is excellent quality and the portion sizes are great. They’re are so many veggie options so it’s great if bringing along veggie friends & family - our favs are the veg thali, vegetable biryani, chana masala and Dahl makahni. So tasty - we forgot to take pictures! The thali is brilliant value for money - you get 4 different curries (chana, paneer, potato, lentil), raita, rice and your choice of naan (any flavour!) or chapati. All for £21! Combine it with a large cobra beer and it’s the perfect meal! The staff are super friendly and happy to advise on any of the dishes, everyone is so polite - you feel they really care about your visit. The Saffron Club is our fav Indian restaurant in the village - both food and staff are the reason we keep coming back! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection
