I had a great experience here. The food was absolutely delicious, the sauce, the flavor, and the portion sizes were all spot on. The atmosphere is lovely. The view of the greenery across the street, the upstairs terrace, and the backyard garden are all beautiful touches. It’s such a warm and cozy place where I felt right at home. SaraZtro, located on Westfield Road in Cardiff, presents itself as a Greek restaurant with a stylish and contemporary interior. The décor combines dark wood flooring, exposed brick walls, and large windows that create a bright and welcoming atmosphere during the day. Banquette seating upholstered in dark green runs along part of one side of the restaurant, while dark wood tables with black metal stands and padded seating provide a reasonably comfortable dining experience. The artwork adds character to the space, including a decorative arrangement of plates featuring an angel motif and a large brown-toned portrait painting. Towards the back of the stairs is an open-plan kitchen allows diners to watch the chefs at work, adding a lively element to the restaurant. The menu offers good value promotions, including a lunch deal and cocktail offers such as two cocktails for £16 before 5pm, alongside sharing cocktails for groups. For the main course, I ordered the Seabass with Lemon Cream (£18.95), served with baby potatoes and mixed salad. The seabass fillet was quite thin, which meant it cooked quickly, but unfortunately it was slightly dry. The crispy skin provided some much-needed texture, while the lemon cream sauce helped add moisture. However, the sauce was overly rich and creamy, overpowering the delicate flavour of the fish rather than complementing it. The spiced baby potatoes were enjoyable and arguably the highlight of the dish, offering good flavour and seasoning. The mixed salad was fairly average and did little to elevate the plate. One downside was the music, which was played at a volume that felt unnecessarily loud and occasionally made conversation difficult. Overall, SaraZtro offers an attractive setting, good drinks promotions, and a pleasant atmosphere enhanced by its open kitchen. While the seabass dish was let down by an overly creamy sauce and slightly dry fish, the restaurant remains a decent option for casual dining and cocktails in Cardiff.
