Came to Wakehurst to enjoy the lovely walks. Decided to grab some lunch here as quite peckish. Noticed that the fridge was out of order and sign up saying to ask for sandwiches. There was barely any hot food left other than a pot of curry a few jacket potatoes and 3 sausage rolls. Asked if they had any vegan rolls left "no" no offer to bake a few off or an alternative. There was a list of sandwiches so asked for a cheese sandwich, server went behind and heard him ask about a sandwich and could hear what sounded like dismay at having someone ask for a sandwich "they want a sandwich made" then heard that there was nothing to go with it. Ended up 3 packs of crisps 2 bananas 1 cheese sandwich 2 teas and a coffee all for £17. The cafe was virtually empty out of16 tables 7 had dirty cups etc over them. Really disappointed with how poor it was here, but felt not worth saying anything at the time as the attitude was so slack. Shame we didn't go to the other cafe closer to the house as we found they had food to offer and seemed more inviting. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £1–10
