Came back here after a few months! We love it here and visit from Chatham. The place has had a real makeover, with new management and looks amazing! The food a little more expensive but still good value for money and delicious!! We sat in our favourite area.. a little snug at the back of the inn, which looked fantastic due to the makeover!! The service was faultless!! Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and look forward to coming back soon!! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Complete and Utter Failure! We have eaten at the Ship Inn, Cobham several times and always found it well priced and a nice place to eat so, when friends wanted to ‘Treat us’ we chose the Ship Inn. However on Sunday 5th October it seems they had a complete failure. Firstly the car park was almost full which at first I thought was a good sign but it turned out that the local kids football team had used the car park which is very close to the football pitch. When we entered the pub it felt chilly and quite empty @ 12:15 so we were early birds and assumed it would soon warm up. We all choose a Sunday roast as our main meals (2 x Turkey, 1 x Beef & 1 x Lamb shank). Our shock came when we started to eat. We are all used to ‘al dente’ vegetables but the vegetables on our plates were hard and defied our knives when trying to cut them. The turkey was dry and the beef was pink but lifeless (I don’t have a problem with rare but this beef was not rare it was cold and tasteless). Noticeably all the plates were cold and the dishes became cold halfway into eating. We all politely ate as much as we could but the fare we were consuming was dire. We then decided that perhaps we could make amends with a course of Apple crumble all round. Soon after ordering the waitress returned and said that they were out of apple crumble so, we resigned ourselves to Caramelised Biscuit Cheesecake, which was ok but nothing to write home about. Furthermore the room never warmed up and one of us resorted to putting her coat on. We bought two rounds of drink (from the bar) while we were there and despite only a few people being in the pub our ‘wait time’ on both occasions was long. Overall our visit to the Ship Inn felt like it couldn’t afford to use any heat in the room or for the food. We are disgusted by the overall experience and no amount of apology can put that right, and never to be recommended. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

I’m really sorry to read about your recent visit and that we fell so short of your expectations — especially as returning guests who’ve enjoyed dining with us before. I completely understand your disappointment, and it’s certainly not the experience we want anyone to have at The Ship Inn.I’ve just recently joined as the new General Manager, and feedback like this genuinely helps me identify where we need to improve and get things right moving forward. I’ve already spoken with both the kitchen and front-of-house teams about your comments regarding food temperature, quality, and comfort in the restaurant to make sure this doesn’t happen again.I’d really appreciate the chance to chat with you directly so I can personally apologise and hopefully restore your confidence in us. Visited on the 10/10/21 waited 25 minutes to be told no beef when told when we came in no turkey only beef
Ordered roast and came with no Yorkshire no cauliflower cheese and cold waited another 10 minutes still no Yorkshire or cauliflower cheese arrived ???? . Or did they come back
Also ordered hoisen burger vegetarian burger and fries and salad got cold burger and dry cold fries no salad sent dinner back to get a small salad covered in dressing thrown in bowl still no burger or added roast !!! No apology and charged for drinks we left deeply disappointed and hungry when other people who had come in after us where eating and had roast beef and full dinners absolutely shocking and like I said very disappointed and really no real explanation or care from staff as to why
