when we arrived at the ship inn we thought oops weve made a mistake booking here. we entered the pub and couldnt see a restaurant. thought we would be having a bar meal? after asking the bar staff we were directed to the restaurant round the back. amazed and pleasantly surprised at our surroundings. the food and service was excellent especially as it was a race day and ladies day in Musselburgh

I have went to 1000's of Restaurants in my lifetime, I am 56 years of age. The food is extremely over priced. I took my woman friend for lunch. Booked table for 12.30pm 23.08.2021. Bought main course Steak Pie & Parsley Smash Potatoes x2 I wish I had never ever stepped foot in the place. The Steak pie was FULL of extremely WATERY gravy, you would need a spoon not a fork or knife to eat it. I did make 2 of the Girls aware how disappointed I was. I wanted to have dessert, but said no way. I then paid my bill, we had 2x Steak Pie/Mash Potatoes and 2 lagers, price was £37.20 and the worse Steak Pie I have EVER ate in my lifetime. Was my first time there, and will never go back.
