What a wonderful experience at the Sora Restaurant at the Malmaison York. I just had my 30th wedding anniversary dinner while staying at the Malmaison York and it was a truly memorable experience. We chose the tasting menu with the suggested drinks package and it was absolutely great. While we would have preferred something else instead of the edamame, which we liked anyhow, the menu, as presented, was wonderful. The drinks associated with the food courses were perfect and the Daiquiri cocktail which opened the drinks courses was exceptional. The food was presented in a very elegant way and the attentive service complimented such a great dinner in a perfect memorable way. We loved every minute but we were only concerned in the very beginning while other guests were having just drinks close by and loudly enjoying their night. We were so glad to see them leaving soon after. Our dinner was super under a lovely evening sky. The full Sora team really gifted us a night to remember for which we are so grateful t. Highly memorable and highly recommendeded. Well done Sora. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: £80–90

Visited Sora for the first time on Saturday night and it was an overall amazing experience. I had taken my friend get her birthday and I couldn’t have wished for a better time. The food was lovely and the staff were attentive and the service was 10/10. Couldn’t recommend more. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Went for my friends 40th birthday, put on the booking notes that even ask if it's a special occasion that it was my friends 40th. No happy birthday, nothing. The afternoon tea is very mediocre, you can tell the sushi isn't fresh. (If you're after proper, tasty, FRESH sushi, try s&b in town). Very bland and tiny. Service was poor, I had to ask for spoons for the pudding and had to ask for plates, not sure if we were expected to eat off the table??!! The place is a bit grubby and has very dated decor, who still uses plastic plants? The plastic tree with battery packs hanging from it is cute though. The most positive thing i can say about the place is that the view is incredible and the loos are nice. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
