Pictured is the fabled and much talked about Split Burger, which I ordered today. I chose this due to the utter lack of any donair options on the menu (despite previous reviews alleging they existed). On my first trip back to Halifax in several years, I was hankering for some juicy donair goodness, but there is none to be found here. As for the burger, it was very tasty, but disappointingly small, for $19.00 (and as a featured menu item). If the goal was to leave me wanting more, then mission accomplished. The fries were edible, but the chewy texture made me think they had been reheated. I was there at 1:15 PM, so not a big crowd. Bonus points for good music selection. The server was friendly and personable, no issues there, but the food took quite a bit longer to hit the table than the number of patrons warranted and she only returned when my food was finished. I was very hungry, so I powered through most of the fries, but they were definitely subpar. Missed opportunities here. As I recall, it caters more to the college crowd in the evening, so I'm definitely not their demographic. Price per person: $30–40

One of the dependables, always been around and feels like it always will be. Conveniently located in the downtown court area near Berrington and Hollis. Smaller and cozy quick to get drinks and food and hang with your friends and family. Was there recently with a group and remembered decades ago being in the same seating area enjoying a supper and beverage before heading up a block to Scotiabank place which used to be the Metro Center for a concert. It's not new age hip, but rather been there done that, kind of vibe! Hope this helps! Price per person: $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

We went to The Split Crow Pub today for breakfast. We had the steak and egg wrap with tater tots and a Caesar. Only $12 for both. It was delicious. Olivia was our server, and she was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back! Definitely the breakfast place to go to on Saturday or Sunday! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
