Do not go here. Worst bar in town. The servers were so rude and they “didn’t do shots” and were upset when they had to make a simple coke and whisky. Golden Rule will treat you nicely it’s just around the corner. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

: Thanks for the feedback. We’re genuinely sorry your experience felt that way — it’s never our intention to come across as rude or unhelpful. For clarity: we don’t serve shots, that’s a deliberate choice we make for our bar, and we’ll always be upfront about that. As for your drink, there’s no reason a whisky and coke should be a hassle to make, so I’m sorry if our team seemed anything less than happy to serve it — that’s not the standard we aim for, and we’ll look into it. Everyone’s welcome to choose where they spend their time, of course,

I think this is very much the place in Ambleside to watch sport. There are plenty of TVs and it is very well set up. The pub is much, much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Beer is good, decent choice of real ales.

The most inhospitable pub we have ever been in. There is more life in Count Draculas coffin or a Zombie apocalypse than the sportsman’s inn. We went in for a drink sat down the girl behind the bar was more interested in her phone and talking to a couple of regular customers leaning on the bar than serving us. There was no talking what would you like or good bye when going. Would not recommend miserable pub miserable atmosphere feels like a graveyard or the pub from American werewolf in London.
