Really disappointed with my experience tonight, especially as this is somewhere we order from regularly and have never normally had an issue and whenever we have it has been solved immediately. I ordered 2 large mixed meat kebab trays, but when my partner got to the car he realised we had been given mixed meat and chips instead. This obviously meant there was much less meat than what we had actually ordered and paid for, and we didn’t want chips as if we did, we would have ordered meat and chips in the first place. He went back to explain that the order was incorrect, expecting it to simply be rectified. Instead, the lady who spoke to him was extremely rude and told him to “just take the chips out.” I found this really disappointing. Taking the chips out doesn’t magically replace the missing meat or give me the order I paid for. What makes it worse is that we are regular customers and the guys who usually work there are always lovely, so I really wasn’t expecting to hear that he’d been spoken to or treated like that over a mistake that wasn’t even ours. Sadly, this experience has really put me off ordering from here again, which is a shame considering how regularly we have used them in the past. This is simply the best fish and chip shop! We live in Coventry but travel to Rugby once a week to have a fish and chip shop supper from Star Fish Bar. The fish is delicious and you get so much for your money. The batter is like nothing I can find in Coventry - crispy and light and delicious. Such a generous portion of chips too. The staff are super friendly too. It is definitely well worth travelling for! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Takeaway Price per person: £1–10
