Overpriced, mediocre products, and poor service I only went into Starbucks as there were no other alternatives. I wish I hadn't. The coffee took ages to be served, because the two members of staff were occupied making a bevvy of frappicinos for 20-somethings, who were also their friends, so they also talked to them all for ages. I read that the new CEO was going to remove these iced, blended drinks that take 5 minutes each to make from the menu, and return Starbucks to being a coffee shop. That can't happen soon enough in the UK. Add to that that my banana nut loaf was dry and uninspiring, and was eye-wateringly expensive at over £4 a slice, that there were dirty mugs all over the tables so I had to move some to sit down, and that there was no brown sugar so I had to ask for it, and which point the server got me 2 sachets, rather than refill the unit. I noticed 5 minutes later that she asked one of her friends, not a staff member, to open up the cupboard and refill it for her... I think this shows how understaffed and underwhelming it all was. Price per person: £1–10 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
