This hotel felt like something straight out of The Shining. We arrived at around 4:30pm to check in and were immediately disappointed. The room looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 1960s. There was a huge window covering almost the entire wall opposite the door, but despite its size there were no blinds only a pair of curtains that had been left open. Given the amount of cobwebs both inside and outside the window, I had no desire to find out what was lurking behind them by drawing them shut. The bathroom was equally unpleasant, with black mould around the bath sealant and a laminate floor (that was once cream or white) that was heavily stained in the highest footfall areas. The whole room felt tired, dirty and neglected. My partner and I left shortly after checking in to attend a family member’s birthday celebration. When we returned later that evening, I was so uncomfortable with the cleanliness of the room that I put my pyjamas on underneath my clothes and tucked them into my socks and waistband because the thought of getting into the bed made my skin crawl. I got back slightly before my partner and sat down with a drink in one of the two musty armchairs, both of which were covered in dust. Within a few minutes I noticed a large spider crawling up the side of the chair and onto my arm. Having already seen two spiders in the bathroom earlier that evening, that was the final straw. I am terrified of spiders! I spent the rest of the night sleeping in my car. I even considered driving all the way back to Glasgow, but my partner’s mum had travelled with us, so I had no choice but to wait until morning before setting off home. Overall, I was horrified and disgusted by the condition of this hotel. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I will absolutely not be returning. I didn’t hand around an extra second to take a picture. I immediately packed my things and left.

Brilliant, Ample parking,the fellow behind the desk goes well out of his way to assist you.The beds are fresh and comfortable,the shower and toilets are spotless with a numerous amount of towels,no noises to disturb your sleep.Breakfast is tasty and filling with adequate choices for anyone .Well done and thanks for a lovely weekend.
