Think it’s been shut down by Wakefield council due to them always getting a zero star hygiene rating no suprise. Everytime I went in there it was dirty and they never cleared the rubbish or cleaned tables. Staff were unhelpful too Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I would rate my overall experience a 4/10. While it wasn’t entirely bad, there were aspects that left me disappointed. One standout positive was a staff member or manager named Mani, who was exceptionally kind and professional. Mani's demeanour added a touch of warmth to an otherwise mixed experience with the staff at this location. Unfortunately, my interactions with some of the other team members left me with mixed emotions. On my last visit, I ordered a 6-inch sub and asked beforehand if I could use a promotional voucher offering a free 6-inch sub with the purchase of another. I was assured by one staff member that the voucher was valid, so I proceeded with my order. However, after my sandwiches were prepared, I was informed by another staff member that the voucher could not be processed. Instead, I was asked to pay £6.70 for a footlong. This miscommunication and inconsistency were incredibly frustrating. Not only had I been told earlier that the voucher was valid, but I also waited through the ordering process only to be told I couldn’t use it. To make matters worse, I was then told that if I chose not to pay full price, the prepared food would go to waste. This situation reflects poor staff management and a lack of effective communication at this Subway branch on Westgate. It was disappointing to experience such disorganization, as it could easily have been avoided with better training and coordination among the team. While Mani’s kindness stood out, the overall handling of the situation left much to be desired. I hope the management addresses these issues to improve the customer experience in the future. UPDATE AGAIN : 0 star hygiene again no surprise! In 2025 AVOID go to the one in the retail park up the road! . THIS PLACE WAS RECENTLY GIVEN A 0 STAR FOOD HYGIENE RATING! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. NEEDS SHUTTING DOWN!! I bet there is cross contamination… I would rate 0 star too if I could. Will stick to the subway at the retail park down the road. Tables always full of rubbish, crumbs and sauce all over tables. They really need to learn to keep tables clean. It’s hard to find somewhere to sit because of this. Please sort this out
