We have been going to Sweeps cafe for many years but lately have been very disappointed at the fish and chips. The overall quality is really falling, although the price is competitive the portion size is small and the batter on the last two occasions has been very thin and only visible on one side. The chips though hot were very dry, we only ate a few as the others were extremely hard and the mushy peas cool and solid in consistency on the plate. We had taken my 84 year old Mother as a treat and as we only ate the fish and a few chips had a slice of cake each to fill us up. Even the cakes we noticed are definitely getting a lot smaller. I had fudge cake and here unlike other cafes we didn't even get an option of having it warm or with cream/ice cream which would have been nice as it was extremely dry!
