I love this place. My wife and I found it by accident one night and have been back a few times. BUT the music is WAY TOO LOUD. It ruins the ambiance when everyone around you has to shout. Please turn it down a bit. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: $100+

An outstanding, elevated taste of my heritage! Taberna LX gets every detail right! As a child of Portuguese immigrants, I grew up with these classic flavors, but the way Taberna LX reimagines, prepares, and presents each dish completely blew us away. Our first culinary experience here was nothing short of extraordinary. The service from start to finish was welcoming and attentive, but a massive thank you goes to Richard, our server. He was incredibly kind, engaging, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping us navigate the menu. Every single recommendation he made was completely spot-on! The fine dining touches throughout the evening made a huge impression: Attentive Beverage Service: Having bottles kept in a wine cooler—even for our sparkling water—and poured for us throughout the meal. Classy Cutlery Service: Bringing fresh cutlery in a presentable box so that I, as the customer, was the very first person to handle the utensils. Thoughtful Details: Right down to the washrooms, which smelled divine with a unique fragrance imported from Portugal, complete with luxury, thick hand towels. The Food:. Shrimp Mozambique: An absolute MUST-ORDER! Make sure to eat each piece whole with all its components—the harmony of flavors is unbelievable. I accidentally dropped the cilantro leaf off my first piece onto the plate, and when I ate the second one with the leaf, the entire bite transformed. That tiny cilantro leaf plays a massive role in pulling all the rich, spicy flavors together. Octopus Salad: Beautifully fresh, perfectly tender, and balanced so well with red onion, peppers, and parsley. Salt Cod Fritters (Bacalhau): Golden, crispy on the outside, light on the inside, and paired beautifully with their tartare sauce. Roasted Cod: Tender, flaky cod elevated with marrare sauce, presunto, and cherry tomatoes. A masterful spin on classic bacalhau. Sandwich Francesinha: Rich, comforting, and decadent with steak, mortadella, chouriço, and a fried egg smothering the bread in that signature sauce. Broken Rapini: A perfect side dish—the bitterness of the rapini complemented by white beans and rich olive oil. Pão de Ló (Portuguese creamy sponge cake): A stunning finale! Presented wrapped in paper at the table and opened to reveal warm cake topped with rich bay leaf ice cream—the presentation and taste were unbelievable. Taberna LX strikes the perfect balance between high-end hospitality and authentic Portuguese soul. Exceptional food, classy touches, and fantastic service. 10/10! We will definitely be back!
