My partner & I visited here this evening as we'd booked the spa with dinner included as part of a Wowcher deal. Staff were friendly & welcoming with clear information given on where & how to order and what was included with our booking. The restaurant was pretty much full - outside & in - and all staff members ensured all customers got their correct order and were happy. Food comes out as and when it is ready so we had to wait a bit for our side order but we understood that they were very busy and everybody just happened to place their food order at the same time. If you sit outside you may be lucky enough to get approached by one or more peacocks. The fact that you can wander around the castle grounds before/after your meal is a really lovely touch as well. Will definitely visit again if we find ourselves in the area again and would recommend to anyone. Thank you for a lovely evening and delicious food Price per person: £10–20

A lovely beer garden, dog friendly and lovely clientele but possibly the only nice things going for this place. Outside has gorgeous views, gardens and tame peacocks which add to a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately waiting staff seemed arrogant and inexperienced. Firstly we ordered Limoncello spritz because they were on the board as special cocktails, only to be served at the bar by an inexperienced server who asked if they even had limoncello and had no idea how to make it. Then we asked one waiter for menus to eat and stated we were outside with the dog, allowed to look though the menu decide and then be met with another waiter who was rude and standoff ish stating we can’t eat outside and we didn’t have a reservation. This certain waiters behaviour was appalling and although he then seated us, greeted our dog kindly he neglected all the tables in his section, taking excessive amount of time to take orders and we’re still waiting on the wine menu now Tables around us had been waiting an hour plus for their food and one had ordered a bottle of wine when initally sat and a waiter came half an hour later asking if they’d ordered drinks.When the food came it was unsurprisingly cold and mediocre. Portion sizes were small, chips burnt and the octopus starter which was a single leg of octopus on an overly garlic based sauce was a disappointment to many of us there. The kitchen staff could be heard shouting service from our table so I can only assume the main issue here is disorganisation and poor management. Certain members of staff need further training, informing of rules and some staff members specifically the young male arrogant waiter we had, shouldn’t be employed. Would recommend for a drink after walk in the gardens but stay away from the restaurant. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4

It’s a really interesting building, staff are very nice but the food i received was pretty poor. Paid £22 for a burger that mirrored a takeout van burgercheap catering beef, burnt bacon and the very basic bread was stale. Very small portion of crispy fries to go with it.
