The Tai Pan which we have loved for 30 years is no more. Having lived in the area and spent many occasions here, celebrating birthday, anniversary's and other special occasions it's is sad to see the decline of the Tai Pan. Visited on a Sunday. Used to always be busy with people queuing outsid. Now the tables inside are 3/4 empty. On ordering, the food presented all tastes and looks the same... the sweet and sour, the szechuan. Served on tiny plates, all luke warm. When we asked for the warm plates we are told they are no more. The familiar features I remember have gone. The chop sticks and holder, the attentive friendly service... They just want you in and out. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
