A pretty nice place. Came on here first with doubts because there was an off-putting smell. But the staff weren’t bad, got seated right away and got a check up making sure everything was good, took about 10 minutes for all 3 of us to be served, the coke wasn’t freezing like the machine says, but it was cool enough. Quite a nice spot, it has a nice design and decorations that really fit the Chinese aesthetic. I’d recommend this place to try, because maybe I’m just biased. Would I come back? Maybe, but not for a bit anyway. Especially until they fix that smell Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £1–10 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

The Tai Pan has been around In Newry for quite some time, however this does not quite mean it is best. It is quite average for a Chinese takeaway and I feel in recent years the quality of their food has slipped, as it is no longer the go to place it was. Although they still offer a decent curry, the rest of their food leaves a lot to be desired. 5/10
