We’ve now been to Tamarind Kitchen twice, and both times we had an absolutely amazing evening. The atmosphere is lovely, the cocktails are really unique and delicious, and the food is just incredible. The staff are so friendly, attentive and welcoming. We celebrated our wedding anniversary there on Wednesday and were surprised with a little ice cream at the end, which was such a lovely touch and made us really happy. Tamarind Kitchen is now a must for us whenever we’re in London. We’ve already recommended it to friends and family, and they loved it just as much as we did. We honestly can’t recommend it enough! Very disappointed. My friend and I were keen to experience the “younger sibling” restaurant to Tamarind. Unfortunately it was not only the food that was a let-down. Starting with a flat Coke, then very runny daal, oily lamb main course and very small naans. To add to this the service was very inattentive eg cutlery wasn’t replaced. Once we had eaten our main course our dirty dishes were not cleared for around 15 minutes until we got fed up and asked for the bill. We decided to go elsewhere for dessert rather than ask for a dessert menu and put up with more of this disappointing experience. As we left we had no acknowledgement from any staff and left without a word. Decor looked a bit tired, toilets were showing signs of wear. To add to this dismal experience we had a bill for £150 - and we had no alcohol or desserts/coffees. We certainly won’t be recommending this place to anyone.
