There’s 2 Tangerine Restaurants in the GTA. One is in Whitby, the other one is in Markham. Tangerine specializes in Hakka Chinese, and has been operating since 2003. Hakka Cuisine is different from Cantonese Chinese Cuisine. The difference is the spices used, it’s from India. They have a lunch promotion daily from 11 to 3 PM, except public holidays. You select your main course and you have a choice of either a pop or a spring roll or a soup. This is located in a busy plaza with several businesses. There’s ample free parking spaces during off hours. There’s this elder gentleman, who might be the Owner. He comes around and visits all tables. He checks in with your table to see if everything is alright. This gesture alone makes one feel welcome and taken care of like family or special guests. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot

I had an absolutely atrocious experience at Tangerine Asian Cuisine, and I can’t believe this place is still in business. From the moment I walked in, the staff acted like they couldn’t care less. It took forever just to get a glass of water, and the service only went downhill from there. The food? A complete disaster. Bland, stale, and utterly tasteless. It was like they couldn’t be bothered to use fresh ingredients or season anything properly. The portions were embarrassingly small, especially for the ridiculous prices they charge. To add insult to injury, the presentation was sloppy and uninspired, much like the entire dining experience. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration—do not waste your time at Tangerine. If you want real quality and excellent service, head to Hakka Legend instead. They know what they’re doing, and the difference in food and service is night and day. I am very disappointed as I was recommended. here. Had no alternative as Federicks (right around the corner was closed). I went there at 11:30 a.m.. Spent $66.00 plus (lunch specials & friend Rice) after the discount if I paid cash. I took the food back to my office and ALL the food was bad as it was left-over rice from God knows when it was cooked. I called and told them and that I was willing to bring back all the food as my co-workers could not eat the food. They were not willing to give me back the money spent. Chicken wings did not go bad, but was tasteless. Will never go back. Poor rude service. These people don't know anything about running a business. They have lost any future business from myself and co-workers and we will spread it around.
