First of all, the food is very delicious. I previously had the biscones at one of their pop-up locations within one of the hospitals when the hospital was doing an event for local businesses. Decided to scout out their physical location to check out their menu. Ordered and tried out one of their sandwiches which was No. 11: The Classic 316 College Street Toast ($10.97). Which had sweet and savory flavors to it (as it was described). The menu on the wall is very small and hard to read. I had to zoom in and take a photo to read the menu (was told many others had to do the same). One key thing to note was that they were rather vague on telling me the size of what the half the sandwich was, as half the sandwich is rather expensive for $10.97. the full one is $16.97. Makes you wonder about the sizes/portion of these things. So, I bit the bullet and went on with ordering. Got the food. And took photos and a video. The sandwich itself is small. It's a regular sized toast. Sure, they have their own recipe for the bread... However, I don't think I would like to be paying $10.97 plus TAX for half a sandwich (and tip since I sat/they served). The sandwich is overflowing with ingredients. The sauces/spread or jam was falling out. There seems to be two kinds of jam/spread: a red one which was sweet and a yellow one which was a different kind of sweet. There was another white sauce(?) which fell out. The egg was very egg. The veggie was very veggie. Messy sandwich. Flavours worked well in harmony, surprisingly. Overall, the sandwich isn't worth it for its price. Not at all. It's convention food prices. If you are rich and have so much disposable money to throw around, then come here. If not, then don't. The biscones I may be able to justify the price. This sandwich? Definitely cannot. I can only see that their items are small and their prices are high end. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Unique experience at Taste Bender. The highlight was definitely his pork sandwich and my classic biscuit with fresh jam and whipped butter. I loved their biscuits! Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $40–50 Recommended dishes: The Signature Katsu Bendo

The desserts here are absolutely top class — homemade, authentic, and made with high-quality Canadian ingredients. You can immediately feel that the owner truly loves what he does. He personally serves guests and pays attention not only to every detail of the menu, but also to the atmosphere, communication, and overall experience. We were even treated to extra cookies while hearing the story behind some of the recipes and inspirations. You can tell he collects ideas and recipes from around the world with genuine passion to bring people the very best. Everything tastes thoughtful, authentic, and made with care. One of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had, honestly. And the coffee was exceptional as well — no exaggeration. Highly, highly recommend this place! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
