Over many years we have been to the Tavern for food. We went yesterday with our usual friends and had a very good meal. We all enjoyed our mains and puddings in a very pleasant atmosphere. The new management have made a real effort to go up a grade in terms of menu choice, quality and service. They have succeeded :) It is in an excellent location for an inexpensive night out, after Alton Towers, a walk on the old railroad, cycle stop or just with the kids (its a friendly place!) Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes Vegetarian options: On some dishes, like the Thai Curry, the curry was vegetarian (and I added chicken and one friend added prawn). This format was throughout the menu

The staff at the Tavern are so invested in the community and really pleasant to be around. The atmosphere, especially on quiz nights is buzzing and tons of fun. The food was very good and I personally recommend the beef chilli! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
