What a lovely place. We shared ginger cake, passion fruit cake and cream tea (scones hot from the oven), all delicious and good coffee too. Also the owners were really friendly and nice relaxed cosy feel to the place. Will be back! Meal type: Other Price per person: £1–10

Incredible tea room - would highly recommend. Independent and family owned - the food was incredible (would highly recommend the crab sandwich and cream teas), very good hot drinks, and super dog friendly. The owners are super friendly and welcoming - and they even offer a delivery service for cream teas!

This Amazing Cafe is definitely a must visit Tea Room. Chester's Family are very Lovely, warm-hearted, friendly and very attentive to your requests. So much choice when it comes to their menu, that the only slight issue you may have is what to choose. The cafe itself has a lovely Vibe to it, it has a lovely calmness about it, whilst still being vibrant. It is an ideal place to chill and get fuelled for your onward journey, it was ideal to come off the somewhat and sometimes busy high street for an ideal break from your shopping excursion, a little oasis or sanctuary whilst you indulge in a Cream Tea or Fresh Deluxe Crab Sandwich. I had a banana milkshake, which was Lush, a Bakewell Tart par excellence and topped off with an awesome mint flavoured Hot Chocolate. I know that sounds decadent, but it was well worth it and for some reason I didn't feel that hungry in the evening! So supper ended up as a couple of pieces of Toast with Marmite! I also must mention that Tea at Chesters is extremely Good value for money, giving you quality produce and great service. Really, what more could you ask for? I will be recommending Chesters to my Family, Friends and anyone that asks me for places to eat and drink at in Totnes. In fact, I spoke to a Gentleman in Brixham yesterday, who is on holiday in the South West at the moment, and he told me that he was going to Totnes the very next day and he asked me if I could recommend somewhere to have a bite to eat and a decent beverage to drink and so. I recommended. Tea at Chesters... Need I say anymore? Apart from "I'll be back". Sending much Love to Chester and his Family... For myself, if you're are co.ing to Totnes, you should make Chesters a Must Visit Place, you will not be disappointed... Hi. Wow. What a review! Thank you for the time effort in doing this. You captured what we are about, friendly family run, with our Chester, sadly not here physically, but in our hearts and very much loved. We strive to be 'us' for Totnes, and its visitors. Thank you once again
